After sealing a few bags, the device switches off. Is it a defect?

No, it is not, it is an overheating protection program. The device will be switching off after some time to protect itself from overheating (and also to save the battery). Check the manual to see details about this program.

How long does the battery last?

It really depends on how often you are using it. But if you seal one plastic bag every day in a "regular" mode, it should last for up to 5 months.

What is your return policy?
